Never Have I Ever Tag (Writers Edition)

Article

Hello!

I saw this tag on Maya’s blog, and I couldn’t resist stealing  *cough cough* doing it.

Rules:

  • Thank the blogger who tagged you and link back to their blog. (Thanks for allowing me to steal this, Maya!)
  • Include the graphic in your post (or make your own)
  • Answer the questions truthfully and honestly.

Alright!Without further adeiu, lets get started!

Never Have I Ever…

… started a novel that I didn’t finish.

Yes. Many times. *throws notebooks filled with uncompleted stories*

… written a novel completely by hand.

When I was 10, I wrote a “book” by hand. Later, I typed it out and discovered it was only around 5,000 words.

… changed my protagonist’s name halfway through a draft.

Surprisingly, I haven’t done this.

… written a story in a month or less

Yes, many times.

… fallen asleep while writing.

No, but I have fallen asleep while reading.

… corrected someone’s grammar irl (in real life)/online.

Yes, but mostly to my younger brothers.

… yelled in all caps at myself in the middle of a novel.

No, but I have written yelling as all caps before.

… used “I’m writing” as an excuse.

Now that I think about it, I haven’t.

… killed a character that was based on someone I know in real life.

Yes and no. I almost killed a character based on someone in real life, but then I decided not to.

… used pop culture references in a story

I haven’t written many stories that take place in modern times, so no.

… written between the hours of 1 a.m. and 6 a.m.

Do random story ideas count? I have a whole notebook full of insane ideas.

… drank an entire pot of coffee while writing.

No, I’m not a huge fan of coffee. Instead, I fill up my giant mug with tea.

… written down dreams to use in potential novels.

I haven’t done this because I always forget my dreams. Either that or they just don’t make enough sense.

… published an unedited story on the Internet/my blog/Wattpad.

No.

… procrastinated homework/schoolwork because I wanted to write.

This mostly happened when I was doing NaNoWriMo, but other than that, not really.

… typed (or handwritten) so long that my wrists hurt.

YES! YES! YES!

… spilled a drink on my laptop/computer (or notebook or typewriter) while writing.

There have been so many times that this almost happened, but thankfully not yet.

… forgotten to save my work/draft.

I am terrified that this is going to happen, so I use Google Docs, which saves automatically.

… finished writing a novel.

I finished my first project that was novel length last November for NaNoWriMo.

… laughed like an evil villain while writing a scene.

I’ve done it in my head, but not out loud.

… cried while writing a scene.

I don’t cry much when I’m writing sad scenes, so no.

… created maps of my fictional worlds.

Yes, I have. I’ve created at least 15 maps for each different project.

… researched something shady for my novel.

I feel like every writer has done this, and yes, I have.

That’s all for now. Until next time!

-Hannah

YESSSS I love how google doc saves automatically, it has saved many, MANY essays and blog posts for me 😉 What’s your favorite kind of tea? I’m trying to get into drinking it more often as it’s healthier than coffee I think? Loved this post!❤️

Thank you! Hmm… Some of my favorite teas are camomile, mint, and lemon.

Hi! I’m Hannah, a crazy pen-wielding, jack-of-all-trades writer. I write contemporary stories with a magical (or vintage!) twist, usually featuring big families, delicious food, and a few tear jerking scenes. When I’m not writing, you could find me camping, sewing, hiking, cycling, skiing, playing violin or piano, reading, and many other “-ing” words.
