The “I’ll Get Around To It Later” Tag

Article

I had no ideas for January’s post and not very much time to come up with said ideas. During this dilemma, I stumbled upon my friend Liesl‘s “I’ll Get Around To It Later” tag. So today I have a more lighthearted and chill post for you. We’ll go back to our regularly scheduled programming soon, but I’ll get around to it later. 🙂

The Rules:

  1. Link back to the original post at Quote, Unquote so Liesl can read your answers.
  2. Link back to the post of the person who tagged you and thank them.
  3. You may use the included graphic anywhere in your post, but you don’t have to.
  4. Fill all seven categories.
  5. You can either leave this tag open so anyone can do it or tag up to seven people.

A Classic Book You’ve Been Meaning To Read Forever But Haven’t Yet

I picked up The Iliad and snaked my way through it for a few weeks, and then tried to listen to it through the audiobook, but couldn’t keep up with the story. I gradually set it aside with intentions of picking it back up later. Later just hasn’t arrived yet. 🤪

A Book On Your Shelf That You Haven’t Read Yet

Sing Me Forgotten was a birthday gift a few years ago. I really want to enjoy this book because it’s a Phantom of the Opera retelling, but I haven’t been in the mood for YA fantasy for awhile and I keep forgetting that I have it.

A Book You Got Recently That You Haven’t Read

I don’t buy books very often, but just yesterday I went to Barnes and Noble with some friends (which honestly, is a great hangout spot) and they had hardcover classics on sale for $10. I bought quite a few. I’m really excited to dive into the books I got, but I’m predicting the collection of Robert Frost poems will be the last to be read because it takes me a millennium to read poetry.

A Book You’ve Had Forever But Haven’t Read

I have a bunch of random books from the Scholastic Book Fair that I bought when I was littlef but never read… and honestly I probably won’t ever read them. One of these poor books is Aru Shah and the End of Time.

A Book A Friend Recommended But You Haven’t Read

I’m really bad at keeping an actual TBR list, but I know many people who’ve recommended Lord of the Rings, which I will eventually read. Just… I’ll get around to it later.

A Book You’re Procrastinating On

Um… mainly textbooks. And also Shakespeare’s Hamlet. I have to read that for school and it would be a smart idea to start reading it ahead of time, but realistically I’ll end up cramming Shakespeare.

The Next Book On Your TBR

I don’t keep a super strict or tangible TBR list, but I do have a bit of a plan on what I’m going to read. I’m going to finish my current read and then move onto either The Picture of Dorian Gray or The Canterbury Tales.

Once again, thank you to Liesl for creating this tag. It was really fun to just relax and talk about my book procrastination shenanigans. Thanks for reading and have a great rest of your day!

Hi! I’m Hannah, a crazy pen-wielding, jack-of-all-trades writer. I write contemporary stories with a magical (or vintage!) twist, usually featuring big families, delicious food, and a few tear jerking scenes. When I’m not writing, you could find me camping, sewing, hiking, cycling, skiing, playing violin or piano, reading, and many other “-ing” words.
