10 Writing Prompts

Article

One very important thing about writing is well, writing. I used to only write in short bursts, so I couldn’t develop good writing habits or improve at all. Just writing helps to improve your writing, so I’ve put together a list of 10 writing prompts to help you write more.

  1. “That deer really messed me up!”
  2. The only time we got McDonalds was when something was wrong. After getting McDonalds for three weeks, I knew it was something more.
  3. There once was a world where the sun stopped shining.
  4. In a world of gray houses, one house was blue.
  5. Once there was a flying swing set.
  6. “Pizza pie, french fry.” He said. “Just repeat that over and over.”
  7. All that can be seen for miles and miles is sand. In the winter, it’s snow. Then one day, a small blob poked out of the endless sand, coming right towards us.
  8. On just a normal day, I found a diamond necklace on the bus. That day wasn’t as normal as I thought.
  9. There once was a girl with the ability to master anything.
  10. Before I knew it, water had splashed just about everywhere in the kitchen.

Hi! I’m Hannah, a crazy pen-wielding, jack-of-all-trades writer. I write contemporary stories with a magical (or vintage!) twist, usually featuring big families, delicious food, and a few tear jerking scenes. When I’m not writing, you could find me camping, sewing, hiking, cycling, skiing, playing violin or piano, reading, and many other “-ing” words.
